About Seminar Snapshots

A Seminar Snapshot features video highlights that capture the key learning of a seminar presentation.

Imagine being able to see who just applied for a marriage license?

Or a property transfer deed?

Or find out about a bad accident from the police right after it happens?

Nozzl Media is a company that is making customized local streaming news feeds for news organizations. The feeds are embedded on a news organization's website and then, depending on what kind of information is ordered, the dispatches keep pouring in -- at a rate of about 20 a minute.

This video was recorded Sept. 1, 2010, at The Poynter Institute's "Investigating Local Governments on a Budget" Conference.

What Will I Learn:
  • Nozzl Media is a company that provides live, streaming feeds that can be embedded in websites.
  • Everyone is scrambling for ways to find the money to save great journalism as ad revenues continue to decline.
  • Nozzl news feeds provide information that can't be found using conventional search engines.

Steve Suo

Steve Suo shared the 2007 Pulitzer Prize in breaking news with a team of reporters from The Oregonian, for coverage of a family lost in the Oregon wilderness. Suo was also a finalist for the 2005 Pulitzer in national news, for an investigative series on the government’s failure to address the spread of methamphetamine abuse in the United States. The meth project earned him an IRE award, led to a documentary collaboration with Frontline, and drove major changes in U.S. and international law to curtail the illicit trade in pseudoephedrine, meth’s main ingredient.

Suo founded Nozzl Media Inc.
