Shaping a Culture of Innovation and Learning

We're in the middle of a big week at Poynter NewsU: Fun at Work Week and Back to School at AEJMC.

What connects these projects? They're both about the future of journalism: the culture that will help newsrooms succeed and the training that will shape the next generation of journalists.

Fun at Work Week features Webinars, articles and interactive challenges focused on helping you build the kind of culture in which creativity, innovation and, ultimately, your business, can flourish. Check out our series of Webinars with Allie Mahler of IDEO, Karyn Lu of HLN, Jennifer Brandel of Hearken, and Poynter’s Katie Hawkins-Gaar and Ren LaForme. And follow the conversation on Twitter at #happynewsroom.

At AEJMC, we are celebrating 10 years of partnering with educators to help shape the next generation of journalism. (Remember those USB wristbands we handed out 10 years ago as part of our AEJMC launch?) If you're in San Francisco for this year's conference, come say hi. We'll be offering our annual stakeholders session at 5 p.m. Thursday. And we'll be in the Poynter booth at the Exhibit Hall from Thursday to Saturday.

These events kick off our lineup of Webinars and self-directed courses launching in the next few weeks. Watch your email for details. And, as always, if you have ideas, suggestions or other feedback, you can reach us at info@newsu.org.
