About Webinars

In this virtual classroom, participants can join in a seminar led by Poynter faculty and visiting faculty. This screencast includes live audio and a slideshow presentation in which participants can post questions and respond to poll questions posed by the host.

Increasing pressure to get stories out quickly can lead to the temptation to cut corners, to short-cut how you verify information--which can lead to plagiarism. So how do you find and prevent plagiarism when you publish in print or online?

Get real-world recommendations for preventing and handling issues of plagiarism based on the finding of the 2013 national Plagiarism Summit, led by the American Copy Editors Society. In this Webinar, we'll explore the research and reports from major news organizations, as well as tackle practical guidelines you can put to work for you.

This Webinar is part of a two-day back-to-back Webinar package, which also includes Navigating Copyright and Fair Use Issues in an Open-Source World. You can sign up for each individual Webinar for $29.95 or enroll in both for $49.95. For more information on special package pricing or to register for both Webinars, click on our Copyright and Plagiarism Back-to-Back Webinar Special here.
